This venue started its fascinating life story as a post office, general store and meeting place among the community. Now, the building plays host to a restaurant, cellar door, art gallery and produce store. All of the Merricks General Store weddings benefit from this rich history, making timeless and emotional photography easily achievable.

If your group is especially big, you can combine it with the adjoining room, The Deck, to fit up to 120 people seated. With gorgeous views over Western Port Bay, The Deck is a wonderful place to spend part of your day. On its own, it can accommodate up to 40 guests which makes for an intimate and cosy experience.

Finally, we have the garden. As one of the best garden wedding venue locations, Merricks General Store garden makes for a great outdoor wedding space if your party isn’t too big. While there aren’t too many chairs for guests to sit on, there is plenty of space to stand up behind.

Accommodation

While Merricks General Store doesn’t offer any accommodation directly, there are a plethora of options available to you and your guests in the surrounding area – whether you’re looking for luxury or Airbnb. A short drive away is the incredible Jackalope Hotel where you could comfortably spend anywhere from a night to a week enjoying 5 star quality food and service.

Packages

Sit down dinner options start at $95 per person for three courses and two sides for Monday to Thursday weddings, and $110 per person if it falls on the weekend. 

If you’d prefer to have a cocktail-style wedding, you’ve got the choice between $70 per person for 6 canapés, and $90 per person for 6 canapés plus a supper. There’s also a beverage option for $85 per person for 5 hours of serving time.

Finally, Merricks General Store offers the option for you to host your wedding ceremony on the grounds for $1,000. With a simple arrangement of 2 barrels, a few chairs and a signing table, it’s understated and that’s what makes it so wonderful.
