Cate & Luke’s Charming March Wedding at Trofeo Estate

A day that felt easy, joyful, and entirely their own... Where love led, and everything else simply followed.
Some weddings don’t try to be anything more than what they are and that’s exactly what makes them unforgettable.
On March 7, Cate and Luke gathered their favourite people at Trofeo Estate for a day that felt relaxed, joyful, and entirely true to them. No fuss. No pressure. Just a celebration of love, thoughtfully styled and gently unfolding in its own time, a reflection of Cate herself, who brought the entire vision together with an effortless touch.
The morning carried a quiet kind of excitement. Cate stepped into her gown by Hera Couture, sourced through Raffaele Ciuca Bridal, a dress that felt both modern and timeless, elegant without ever trying too hard. Her look was finished with soft, glowing makeup by Holly Makeup Artist and beautifully styled hair by Kim Too Good Hairstyling, creating something that felt natural, refined, and completely her.
Luke wore a classic black and white suit by Institchu, sharp, understated, and quietly confident. Together, they embodied that balance so well: elegance without excess, style without effort.
As guests arrived at Trofeo Estate, they were welcomed into a ceremony space softened by florals from Millicent Green and accompanied by live music from Like This Entertainment drifting gently through the vineyard air. Led by The Celebrant, the ceremony felt warm and deeply personal less about spectacle, more about meaning. The kind of moment where everything else falls away, and what remains is simply the two of them choosing each other, witnessed by their adorable son Louise and dearest loved ones.
Afterwards, Cate and Luke took a quiet stroll through the estate, across lush green fields and between rows of vines soaking in their first moments as husband and wife. There’s something about that pause after the ceremony, when the energy softens and the day begins to settle. No timeline. No expectations. Just presence. And the quiet realisation that everything has shifted.
The reception carried that same relaxed, intentional feel. Styled with stationery by Peppermint Press, layered with linen from Table Art Event Hire, and finished with thoughtful details from The Small Things Co and The Hire Co, the space felt warm, romantic, and inviting, like an extension of the couple themselves.
As the evening unfolded, guests gathered around the gelato cart from Classic Gelato, laughter spilling easily between conversations. Then came one of the most meaningful moments of the night, Cate and Luke’s first dance, followed by dances with their parents. There’s something about those moments that always lingers a little longer. Not just movement, but memory unfolding in real time.
The dance floor soon filled, brought to life by Melbourne Entertainment Company and the live sounds of Like This Entertainment. And just when it felt like the night couldn’t hold any more, it carried into one final moment. A sparkler exit. Soft light flickering in the dark as their closest friends and family sent them off into married life. Simple. Joyful. Exactly as it should be.
When asked what they were most looking forward to, their answer was clear: celebrating themselves with all of their favourite people. And throughout the entire day, you could feel that intention not in grand gestures, but in the way moments were shared, held, and remembered.
Their story began in a place far less expected —a hospital ward, where Cate worked and Luke was completing his internship. Luke, always professional, took a little while to read. It took weeks of gentle persistence and quiet flirting before Cate got to know him beyond the surface. Then one Sunday shift changed everything. A conversation that stretched a little longer. A chance meeting at the lifts. A walk home together, discovering they lived just two streets apart. A borrowed book. And from there, something simple and certain began, the kind of connection that doesn’t need to announce itself to be real.
Years later, during a trip to Ubud, Luke surprised Cate with a proposal she never saw coming. At 18 weeks pregnant and having organised the entire trip herself, she had no reason to suspect what was waiting. Hidden within the details of their stay, Luke had arranged a private dinner overlooking the rainforest, complete with a photographer and videographer to capture the moment. It was thoughtful, intentional, and deeply personal, a reflection of everything they had quietly built together.
Their advice to other couples is something worth holding onto: enjoy the journey and remember the reason for the day. It’s easy to get caught up in comparison, in expectations, in what a wedding should look like. But when you let that go, what remains is something far more meaningful.
