Dominique & Kareem’s April Beach Wedding at All Smiles, Sorrento

By the sea, where the wind softened everything, they chose each other for life.

On April 17, with the ocean stretching endlessly behind them, Dominique and Kareem stood on the cliffs of All Smiles Sorrento and stepped into married life surrounded by salt air, soft light, and the people who matter most. Their vision was simple from the beginning. Cocktail style, beachside, Australian native touches, and a relaxed atmosphere that felt easy and true to who they are.

The day began with a quiet kind of excitement as Dominique prepared for the moment she had long imagined. Her look was refined and effortless, with hair and makeup by Mish O'Connell Stylist bringing out her natural glow. Her gown from Emily May Bridal moved beautifully with the coastal breeze, elegant without ever feeling overdone. Kareem matched her energy perfectly, wearing a classic suit that felt timeless and composed, the kind of look that does not demand attention but quietly holds it.

Before the ceremony, they shared a first look. A moment just for them. The world seemed to pause as they took each other in, the anticipation softening into something calm and certain. It is often in these in between moments where everything feels most real. From there, we wandered down to the shoreline for portraits, the sand beneath their feet and the sound of waves wrapping around them. There was a natural ease between them, shaped by years of knowing and choosing each other.

Their ceremony took place along the cliffside at All Smiles Sorrento, where the ocean became both backdrop and witness. Led by Married by Pan, the ceremony was heartfelt and warm, filled with laughter, emotion, and a deep sense of connection. Native florals framed the space, grounding the setting in something distinctly Australian, while live music drifted gently through the air, adding to the atmosphere without ever overwhelming it.

As the sun began its slow descent, the celebration moved into the reception, beautifully coordinated by Naomi Baxter Events. The space felt relaxed yet refined, allowing guests to settle in, share stories, and simply enjoy being together. Speeches brought both laughter and tears, the kind that only come from years of shared history. When it came time to cut the cake, it felt less like a tradition and more like another moment to pause and take it all in.

Sunset arrived quietly, casting a golden glow over the coastline. We stepped away briefly for photos, capturing that soft light as it wrapped around them. There is something about that time of day that feels almost reflective, like the day itself is exhaling.

Back inside, Dominique and Kareem shared their first dance as husband and wife, moving together with a quiet confidence that spoke volumes. Soon after, the energy shifted as the dance floor came alive, thanks to The White Tree. Laughter, music, and movement carried the night forward, while True Story Wedding Films captured it all as it unfolded.

When asked what they were most looking forward to, their answer was simple. Becoming husband and wife, and celebrating with their friends and family. And that simplicity was felt in every part of the day.

Their story began on March 17, 2018, at a friend’s 21st birthday. Both were ready to head home when Kareem’s brother, Jameel, introduced them. Something clicked almost instantly. Conversations continued long after that night, first online, then in person. Their first date at Orange Fox in Beaumaris led to many more. Beach walks with Sabbo their border collie, coffee dates that started as Kareem trying to impress Dominique and slowly turned into a shared love, and days filled with small, meaningful moments that built something lasting.

Years later, on June 20, 2024, during a trip through the United Kingdom, Kareem proposed in Loch Ness. After a day spent exploring small towns, castles, and winding roads, they arrived at the water’s edge. Dominique was taking photos of the view when Kareem quietly stepped behind her and asked her to turn around. It was thoughtful, unexpected, and deeply personal, much like everything they had built together.

Their advice to other couples planning a wedding is as honest as it gets. Do not renovate your house and plan a wedding at the same time. A reminder that even in the midst of busy seasons, what matters most is the reason behind it all.

Dominique and Kareem’s wedding was not about grand gestures or overcomplication. It was about presence, connection, and celebrating a love that has grown steadily over time.

By the ocean, with the wind in the air and their people around them, they stepped into this next chapter the same way their story began. Naturally, easily, and together.
