Rebecca & Nathaniel’s Charming Rustic Wedding at The Stables - Sage’s Cottage Farm

A rustic love story unfolds at Sage’s Cottage Farm, where Rebecca and Nathaniel said forever amidst the lush green gardens and heartfelt wishes of their closest loved ones.
Rebecca and Nathaniel’s wedding at The Stables at Sage’s Cottage Farm on the 9th of November was the perfect blend of charm, authenticity and quiet romance. While they didn’t commit to a strict theme, their choices echoed the rustic character of the venue—earthy textures, soft tones and a heartfelt atmosphere that made the day feel intimate yet effortlessly beautiful. Their celebration unfolded beneath the gentle sway of gum trees, weathered timber walls and golden paddocks that shimmered in the spring sunlight.
The ceremony took place at The Stables, where emotions ran high as celebrant @sallytaylorcelebrant led a heartwarming exchange of vows. Nathaniel stood tall at the end of the aisle, eagerly waiting for his favourite moment of the day—seeing Rebecca walk towards him. And she did so radiantly. Rebecca beamed with joy in her stunning gown from @emilymaybridal, her natural beauty enhanced by the soft, glowing artistry of makeup artist @denisecarrascomakeupartist and the effortlessly elegant hairstyle crafted by @mishoconnell_stylist. The groom matched her grace with his dapper suit, looking every bit the gentleman as they promised forever.
As they were finally announced as husband and wife, Rebecca’s favourite moment arrived—the moment the formalities ended and the celebration truly began. Laughter echoed across the property, drinks clinked and guests embraced the relaxed countryside setting. The Stables at Sage’s Cottage Farm transformed seamlessly into a cosy and charming reception space. Long tables, rustic textures and the warm glow of festoon lights created a welcoming atmosphere where stories were shared and love was celebrated. As the sun dipped, the talented DJ @vineyard.vibes.dj set the tone for the night, filling the dancefloor with energy as family and friends danced without a care in the world.
Just before the last light disappeared, I snuck the newlyweds away for a quiet stroll through the paddocks. It was one of the most peaceful and intimate moments of the day. With the sky painted in peach and gold, Rebecca and Nathaniel held each other close, soaking in the reality that they were now husband and wife. These sunset portraits captured not only their love, but also the serenity of their surroundings—a soft reminder that amidst the excitement, love also lives in the quiet moments.
Their story began years ago at Safeway Patterson Lakes, where unexpected friendship slowly blossomed into something deeper. Their first date, back in 2015 at a burger restaurant in Carrum, became one of their favourite memories—so much so that they returned earlier this year to celebrate 10 years together. The restaurant may not have the same name anymore, but the familiar layout brought the memories flooding back. In January 2024, just two weeks after moving into their first home, Nathaniel proposed in their living room surrounded by their closest friends. Simple, meaningful and true to who they are—just like their wedding day.
When asked for advice for other couples planning, they shared a simple yet valuable tip—start planning early and keep everything in one place. Having a clear plan helps reduce stress and allows you to actually enjoy the process instead of feeling overwhelmed by it. And if their wedding day is anything to go by, it’s that love is found in the thoughtful details, the shared laughter and the quiet moments in between.
Rebecca and Nathaniel’s wedding was a heartwarming celebration of connection, commitment and joy. A rustic dream at Sage’s Cottage Farm—where love felt as real as the earth beneath their feet and as timeless as the sunset that kissed their first evening as husband and wife.
